Don't get me wrong, I love my adaptability back steps in Dark Souls II. I'm just not certain how balanced it is to have iframes connected to a stat. I still use the back step in DS3, but only very situationally and with certain weapons. CGSs actually do very well with the DS3 back step and I'm sure katanas would do well with one too.
