There will be a slight smell of burning from the dpf as it burns off. You will notice the mpg will be lower than normal. Make sure engine temp is in the middle of the gauge before you go to the 2500 for the burn off. You need to get onto a motorway or good road put car in 3rd or 4th gear and go to 2500 revs.
Follow the steps below to fix or reset the AT light on your Mazda 3: Turn on the ignition without turning on the engine. Step on the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there for 30 seconds. Release the gas pedal. Turn off the ignition, then turn it back on again all the way to turn on the engine. The AT light should now go away.
Here is what you need to do: Step 1: Switch on just the ignition, not the engine. Step 2: Press the accelerator all the way and hold it there for at least 30-40 seconds. Step 3: Release the accelerator. Step 4: Switch off the ignition and remove the key. Step 5: Start the car, and the AT warning light should disappear. The light will come on solid if the DPF goes through to many regenerations between services. Mazda are reseting the the 'oil data' which tells the ECU the oil has been changed and it resets the regeneration count back to zero. Incorrect oil and driving style/conditions will effect how often the DPF will go through a regen. sophiesmith wrote: ↑ Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:27 pmon my way home from work the DPF light started flashing.I got in touch with the dealer I bought the car from as i have only had it 4 weeks and they said I must have turned off the engine whilst it was doing a β€˜regen’ so I had to take it to the dealer for them to process an regen manually. can anyone advise me how to identify when the car is

When your Hiace has a DPF malfunction you will experience any combination of the following ; DPF Light & Check Engine – These will show themselves accompanied with DPF related faults. Check Engine Light (top) + DPF Light (bottom) On a Toyota Hiace. Any combination of the following faults when you connect your diagnostic tool: P2002 diesel

There are also other problems that can cause the DPF light to stay and these can include faulty sensors or a EGR fault. I would get a second opinion from a diesel/DPF specialist and not take what Mazda say as gospel. They seem to like swapping out parts at vast expense that may not solve the problem (4 injectors Β£2000+).
